Residents Voice Concerns Over Battery Storage Project
North Glengarry council faced strong opposition from residents at its March 10 meeting over a planned Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near Dunvegan. Many expressed frustration over a lack of transparency and raised safety and environmental concerns regarding lithium-ion battery storage. In response, the mayor agreed to have an independent expert review the project’s environmental impact.
