Audience Code of Conduct for the Candidate Debate

This is a moderated debate, not an open forum

To ensure a respectful, fair, and informative event, the following rules will be strictly enforced

🎤 Debate Format & Question Policy

  • Moderated Questions:
    Questions must be submitted online in advance using the form below. These questions will be screened by the moderator and may be asked during the main portion of the debate.

  • Short Question Period:
    A limited, short audience question period will take place at the end of the debate.

    • Individuals MUST register their name if they want to be called upon to ask a question.
    • Due to time constraints, only a select number of individuals will be chosen.
    • Individuals will be randomly selected
    • Questions should be relevant to the current election and be address to ALL candidates.
  • Eligibility to Submit Questions:
    You must be an eligible voter registered in the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry riding. Proof of registration or address may be requested.

🚫 Prohibited Conduct & Items

  • No interruptions, outbursts, or verbal disruptions during the debate.
  • No placards, signs, flags, campaign apparel, or promotional material of any kind.
  • No airhorns, whistles, noisemakers, or excessive applause or jeering.
  • Disruptive individuals will be asked to leave and escorted out immediately.
  • All mobile devices must be silenced, and unauthorized recording may be prohibited based on information release policy.

⚠️ Enforcement

  • This is a zero-tolerance environment for disruption or non-compliance.
  • Event staff and security will enforce these rules to preserve the integrity of the debate.
